Museu de Granollers

The Museu de Granollers brings together painting and sculpture from the 12th century to the present day. It was the seat of the Salvaguarda de la Generalitat de Catalunya, saving cultural artefacts during the Civil War. The Painting Awards from 1959 to 1964 brought in works from the second avant-garde, and the contemporary art acquisition policy of the 1990s and 2000s has led to a contemporary art collection that includes works by Cumella, Uclés, Tàpies, Benito and Perejaume among others. The museum is a social and educational space that promotes knowledge and citizen participation.
